Dominik Dijakovic finally made his WWE debut on the December 19 edition of NXT. The brand’s newest addition worked his first match on WWE programming against Aaron Mackey. Mackey barely had any offense in the bout as Dijakovic squashed him in a matter of minutes.
Dominik worked on the independent scene as Donovan Dijak. His first three years in the business were spent in Ring of Honor, where he fought as a heel under the guidance of Truth Martini. Many pro wrestling fans saw the potential in Dijak during his ROH run and it was believed that he would eventually make the jump to Vince McMahon’s company.
WWE began running promos over the past few weeks, hyping Dominik’s arrival. Now the 6’7″ big man is indeed part of the NXT roster and his potential as a main event talent in WWE may indeed be realized. Dijakovic isn’t the first Ring of Honor talent to join the NXT brand, of course.
Adam Cole’s Undisputed Era and Punishment Martinez are just a handful of former ROH stars currently working in WWE’s developmental brand.
