According to a new Forbes report, WWE star John Cena, for the first time in his career, earned over $10 million in a single year, as he made a reported $10 million in 2017.
The report attributes Cena’s earning power to several revenue streams. The first being WWE, as his schedule in WWE was much heavier in 2017 than it was in 2016, and with Cena working almost twice as many events he earned about $2 million more last year than he did in the previous year.
Secondly, Cena reportedly earned around $2 million from his work outside of WWE, which included movie and TV appearances.

Not only did Cena top himself in earnings last year, but he also topped the reigning king of WWE’s box office, which is Brock Lesnar. The Beast reportedly made $6.5 million last year in WWE. Lesnar was the highest paid WWE performer in 2016 largely due to his one-off UFC fight against Mark Hunt, which paid Lesnar a whopping $2.5 million.
In other WWE earnings news, Forbes notes Roman Reigns rounds out the top three with $4.3 million in earnings in 2017.
