It wasn’t too long ago that Gawker Media leaked a sex tape featuring WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan online. The tape happened to feature Hogan using several racially insensitive slurs which ended up costing him his job with WWE. “The Hulkster” eventually decided to sue Gawker in a high-profile case that took on several twists and turns along the way. It was later ruled that Gawker would be forced to pay Hogan over $100 million and cease operations entirely. It was an interesting and controversial case that is still being talked about examined today. The trial and the details that took place from behind the scenes are currently being developed into a feature film that will be premiering some time within the next few years.
The story of the Hulk Hogan versus Gawker Media trial is actually receiving two different film treatments at the moment. According to, one of these film editions will be titled Conspiracy, and it will directed by Francis Lawrence. Lawrence has directed I Am Legend and three of The Hunger Games movies. The movie is set to be based on the Conspiracy: Peter Thiel, Hulk Hogan, Gawker, and the Anatomy of Intrigue book written by Ryan Holiday. It will be produced by Blackrock Productions and will be written by Charles Randolph, who co-wrote and won an Academy Award for The Big Short. There is no word on a projected premiere date for the film as of right now.
During a recent interview with TMZ Sports, UFC President Dana White addressed the possibility of Brock Lesnar coming back to UFC soon. White acknowledged that Lesnar definitely wants to return to MMA and would love to face off against Jon Jones at some point in the future, but that still all depends on when Lesnar decided to reenter the USADA drug testing pool. Lesnar re-signed with WWE earlier this year, but White revealed in the interview that his current deal with the company will be coming to an end at the end of the summer. With recent rumors suggesting that Lesnar could be dropping the Universal Championship at SummerSlam this August, it may be possible that he will leave WWE soon thereafter.
