‘Broken’ Matt Hardy Files To Trademark His Name
The Pro Wrestling Sheet has exclusively revealed that ‘Broken’ Matt Hardy has begun legal proceedings in an attempt to trademark his own name.
According to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Hardy filed for a trademark last week on “Broken Matt Hardy”, citing “entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer.
As has been previously reported, sources close to Matt informed the Pro Wrestling Sheet that his deal with Impact Wrestling enabled him to profit off of anything already filmed having to do with any gimmick he used throughout the course of his run with the company. However, once that is over, he retains ownership of his name and characters.
But there are conflicting reports coming from withing Impact Wrestling that state this is not the case and are claiming that the current deal specifically states that the company owns all creations used on Impact Wrestling.
